Non-Polar (Bi-Polar) Axial Electrolytic Capacitors
( for Audio/Speaker Crossover Application)
. .
.

Features and Specifications:

  • Designed specifically for speaker crossover applications.
  • All Electrolytics are new "factory fresh" stock. We do not sell NOS (new old stock).
  • Rated Voltage (vdc) is 100 Volts.  (It is perfectly fine to replace lower Voltage such as 25 Volts, 50 Volts, 63 Volts, etc with 100V).
  • Capacitance Tolerance: +/- 10% at 1KHz / 20C.
  • dissipation Factor: 10% at 1KHz / 20C.
  • Leakage Current: I=0.03CV or 4uA, whichever is greater after 5 minutes application at rated voltage
  • Ideal for: Music Industry Applications / Audio / Speaker Cross-Over Networks.
  • Straight long tinned CP (copper ply) wire leads (ideal for hand wired circuits).
  • uF Sizes: 1uF; 1.5uF; 2.2uF; 3.3uF; 4.7uF; 6.8uF; 10uF; 15uF; 22uF; 33uF; 47uF, 68uF; 100uF; 150uF and 220uF. Capacitor Body Dimensions. Dimensions also per below table.
  • Safety vent and mid-blue PVC sleeve insulation.
  • Operating Temperature Range: -40C to +85C.
  • ISO 9001:2000 certified
  • 100% RoHS Compliant
  • Richey MDIN(L) Series (with both 10% DF option & 10% tolerance option). Factory Spec Sheet

Now available for sale are non-polar (same thing as bi-polar) axial leaded 100V electrolytic capacitors designed specifically for speaker crossover network applications. These non-polar electrolytic capacitors have tight tolerance and low dissipation to optimize audio/speaker performance. These non-polar E-caps have single end rubber seal construction to ensure best reliability. Single end rubber seal non-polar electrolytic capacitors are most reliable in the environment of vibration, since one end has foil strip and is welded to aluminum case by using ultrasonic wave. This type of capacitor construction provides better protection against the CP (copper-ply) wire breaking from the aluminum foil which would result in zero capacitance (and no sound). These Ecaps have lower D.F. (dissipation factor) and more precise tolerance than normal electrolytics (which does cost more to manufacture). At a higher cost/price they are best for audio/music industry applications. These non-polar electrolytics are made by Richey Electronics (REL). Richey, a leading manufacturer of electrolytic capacitors has been making high quality electrolytic capacitors for almost 50 years (since being incorporated in Nashville, Tennessee in 1965).

We carry these non-polar electrolytic capacitors at the popular 100 volt size. Higher voltage bi-polar electrolytic capacitors can be used as replacement for lower voltage e-caps.
